Testimonials

Obrigada!"

"Depois de um longo INVERNO com 3 bebês e sem rede de apoio, o resultado foi um Burnout... Eu corri para o Yoga e me reconectei, ouvi o meu corpo, me acalmei, conheci pessoas incríveis e consegui respirar na superfície, depois de tanto afundar... Muito obrigada, Studio Yogares!"

What is Rolfing® Structural Integration (SI)?
Rolfing® SI is a body therapy practice that combines the manipulation of the body's soft tissues and movement education to realign and balance the body's structure. Created by Ida Rolf in the 1950s, this approach's main objectives are to organize posture, relieve tension and chronic pain, promote greater vitality and, thus, a general feeling of well-being that lasts beyond the sessions.
General benefits of Rolfing® SI:
- Improved posture: By realigning and organizing the body in gravity, Rolfing® helps the client to perceive their postural patterns and discover new patterns that improve their structure and quality of movement;
- Relief from chronic pain: This is one of the benefits most attested by clients and also by science: several studies conducted by the Pain Group of Hospital das Clínicas/SP recorded statistically significant improvements in patients complaining of chronic pain.
- Improved flexibility: By releasing tightness and tension in the fascial tissue, Rolfing® improves range of motion and flexibility;
- Reduced stress and tension: The practice helps release deep muscle tension, promoting a feeling of relaxation and well-being;
- Improved physical performance: Athletes and those who practice physical activities find Rolfing® IE to be an effective way to optimize their performance and prevent injuries.
- Expanded self-knowledge and capacity for expression: The field of action of Rolfing® goes beyond the physical level, as it helps people become more aware of their movement and posture patterns, and how these patterns relate to their history and their way of expressing themselves and relating to the world.
How does Rolfing® IE work?
The Rolfing® method is an approach to integrating the human body structure, which considers the physical and emotional aspects of the individual.
In an initial consultation, we take a history of the client's pain or complaints, taking into account not only structural and functional (movement) issues, but also emotional and psychobiological ones.
After this initial consultation, we begin the "series of 10", which consists of 10 sessions of deep manual intervention (myofascial release) associated with movement re-education: throughout the sessions, the therapist applies controlled pressure to specific areas of the body to release accumulated tension and imbalance patterns. In addition, based on careful work on body perception and awareness, the sessions include guidance on how to move in the most efficient and economical way (i.e. with the least energy expenditure) possible.
What to expect from a Rolfing® IE session?
Each session has a specific theme and objectives that aim to improve different functions of the body, such as breathing, support of the feet and legs, among others. Throughout the session, the therapist and client work together on the following path:
- "Check-in": body reading, functional tests, assessment of how the client is arriving for the session;
- Myofascial Release: the therapist applies various touch and manipulation techniques to release tension and realign the body, according to the theme and objectives of the session.
- Integration: At the end of the session, the therapist and client work together to integrate the benefits achieved on the table into gravity.
At the end of the session, the client can feel in their own body not only the relief provided by the release, but also the structural changes it promotes. From this increase in awareness, the client incorporates the gains of each session, making their benefits long-lasting.
